CBS Sports Classic Info

The CBS Sports Classic is a new basketball event, but it has already seen some great players hit the hardwood to compete. One such player is North Carolina point guard Marcus Paige, who has led the Tar Heels to two victories at this event. Another top player to take the court for this event was Karl-Anthony Towns, who played for Kentucky in the 2014 event. Towns would go on to be selected with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.

CBS Sports Classic History

The CBS Sports Classic does not have a long history to look back on, but it is already earning the reputation of being a top-end college basketball spectacle. The first CBC Classic was played at the United Center, the home of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, in 2014. That year's lineup of teams included the North Carolina Tar Heels, Ohio State Buckeyes, Kentucky Wildcats and UCLA Bruins. Any college basketball fan will quickly recognize that those four are some of the very best programs in the sport, and it was one heck of an event to kick off the history of the CBS Sports Classic. North Carolina was able to take down the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first game in 2014, while the second saw Kentucky lay waste to UCLA by a margin of nearly 40 points. These four teams returned in 2015 for the second running of the CBA Sports Classic, and the history of this event continues to grow with every passing season.

CBS Sports Classic Greatest Moments

The North Carolina Tar Heels have never lost a game in the CBS Sports Classic. They are 2-0 in this event, taking down both Ohio State and UCLA. Teams like UNC are a big draw for CBS Sports Classic tickets.
